The Geometry Of Escape
There are certain pieces that begin as an experiment.
A new category.
A seasonal idea.
A creative exploration.
You introduce them into the world without fully knowing what role they will ultimately play within the larger story of a brand.
Over time, however, something interesting happens.
People respond.
They ask questions.
They return to them.
They request them again and again.
And eventually, what began as an idea reveals itself as something more permanent.
That has been the journey of swimwear at Washington Roberts.
Over the last several summers, we've received countless requests for the return of specific pieces. The Rallel Bikini Set. Our monogram one-piece. Most recently, requests for a men's swim program that reflects the same visual language that has become synonymous with the brand.
What started as a seasonal offering gradually became something else.
A signal.
An indication of what our community wanted to see more of.
As designers, we often spend a great deal of time imagining what the future of a brand might look like. Sometimes the most valuable insights come from simply paying attention to the people who have been there all along.
The launch of our core monogram swim collection is a reflection of that process.
Not a departure from what came before, but a continuation of it.
A natural progression.

When I first started Washington Roberts, I wasn't interested in creating products simply for the sake of having more products.
I was interested in building a world.
A visual language.
A collection of objects connected by a common point of view.
Over the years, geometry has become one of the defining elements of that language.
It appears in our prints, our textiles, our accessories, and increasingly, in the way we think about lifestyle beyond apparel.
The swim collection represents another step in that evolution.
Not because it is new.
But because it has earned its place.
This season marks the introduction of our year-round core monogram swim program.
Designed as enduring pieces within the Washington Roberts wardrobe, the collection includes the return of familiar silhouettes alongside the continued expansion of the category.
The monogram one-piece.
The Rallel Bikini.
And soon, our first men's swim trunks.
Together, they represent the beginning of a more complete vision of summer through the lens of Washington Roberts.
A collection built around movement, ease, and the geometric forms that continue to inspire our work.
The Geometry of Escape is ultimately a story about growth.
The growth of a collection.
The growth of a category.
And the growth of a brand that continues to evolve through the conversations we have with our community.
As we look toward the future, these pieces serve as a reminder that some of the strongest ideas are not always the newest ones.
Sometimes they are the ideas worth returning to.
The ones that stay with us.
The ones that become part of the foundation.
